Born and raised in Franconia Township, near a creek of the Lenape ancestral home, Berdine (Mininger) Leinbach spent a lot of time wading and creating with clay and sketching. <\/p>\n

She graduated from Goshen College, Goshen, Indiana with a B.A. in Art and Education.<\/p>\n

She taught art briefly in Indiana and then for five years in North Penn School District before she and her husband Steve began their family.   As a member of the Indian Valley Arts Foundation(IVAF), she created the designs and worked with students to create the mosaic murals at the Indian Valley Public Library and SAVE Connections Building. She worked with IVAF and the Mainstreets Program to obtain the first public sculpture, Hope, Stability and Growth<\/em>, on Main Street, Souderton in 2009.   She has returned to teaching and teaches art in Souderton Area School District. <\/p>\n

In 2015 she achieved her Master of Education degree from the University of the Arts, Philadelphia, PA, and published her thesis on the importance of developing creativity through questions and context. What do you notice? What do you wonder? She is fascinated by creative connections.<\/p>\n

She has been painting watercolors for over forty years.  In 1998 she began her business, working at her studio in Franconia Township and selling her work privately and at galleries.  Over 160 of her original paintings are in homes, faith-based organizations and businesses across the country, with several in Canada, Europe and Asia.<\/p>\n

Artist’s Statement<\/strong><\/h2>\n

One of my goals as an artist is to create works that help the viewer experience peace, acceptance, contentment, humility, serenity, patience, and hope. Every day events seek to overwhelm with violence, racism, greed, arrogance, envy, stress and despair. These paintings are a reminder to focus on what gives life.  Metaphors abound in these works.  Find what speaks to you.<\/p>\n

Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable— if anything is excellent or praiseworthy —think about such things.  Philippians 4:8<\/p>\n

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.   Galatians 5:22<\/p>\n

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, or about your body what you will wear.  Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?  Look at the birds of the air.  They neither sow nor reap not gather into barns and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.  Are you not of more value than they?  And can any of you by worrying add a single hour to your span of life?  . . . Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin yet I tell you even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these. . .  But strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.   Matthew 6:25-33<\/p>\n
